There are two types of body builders in every gym. There is the first type that sweats it out to extents that are simply inhuman, to build an ounce of muscle. These body builders must attend the gym to build the muscles, and they do so in pain and tears. These first type of body builders live a life of suffering, sacrifice and painful endurance. The diet regimes they live by are killing, they swallow each spoon with loathing. They wish they could eat better and perhaps miss the training sessions once in a while. Body building is a devil to be borne for these unlucky fellows.
There is however a second type of body builders. These body builders are always smiling through the intensive exercises. They seem to be enjoying every rep of each exercise. They keep to their diet with enthusiasm and gusto. The second type of body builders follow out a body building program for the love of it. They love the workouts, they love the dieting, they love the smell of sweat, they adore muscle pain and thrive in the field of optimal growth. A funny thing about this second type of body builders is that they build muscles easily, in and out of the gym.
They don’t have to attend the gym to build muscles because they can do that without shedding a sweat. Yet they look forward to the next training session as if it is a honeymoon.
What is the difference between these two types of body builders? Is it luck? Is it the strategies adopted in training? Is it genetics? Is it what? Steroids? Supplementation? What is it that makes such contrasting features between two people who may actually be in one gym? None of these is the reason.
The difference lies in attitude. Type one body builders probably believe that muscle building is impossible. Their attitude to training to dieting and to all aspects of body building is largely negative. That is why muscles are so hard to come by. They eat what is a must to eat and eat it grudgingly. Consistency is hard to maintain and inconsistency usually wins. The gym is loathed and therefore exercise efficiency is almost nil, at whatever intensity. Their lives are a series of tears because they will most frequently overtrain and injure their muscle tissue in total absent mindedness.
But the type two body builders believe wholesomely in their ability to build muscles. They eat the diet with appreciation knowing that it is the key to the next phase of growth. They hop up the stairs instead of taking the lift, because they remember about their flexibility wherever they are. Even before they attend the gym, they have been building muscles all day long. These body builders are meticulous in both dieting and exercising such that schedules are consistently maintained as if their lives depended on them.
And when they do attend their workouts, each rep, each set, each exercise is done with perfection of form. They listen to the effect of each to the target muscles only because they are looking forward to new growth. The intensity and efficiency of exercises make it possible to gain mass sooner than later. They build their muscles from within. They have learned the secret to body building success – positive attitude and optimistic commitment to details.
